Our U11’s and U10’s have had a 9v9 friendly this week in preparation for the U10’s moving up in team sizes for next season. In what was a highly anticipated game, by both teams since it was announced, the performance didn’t disappoint. Both teams showed plenty of heart and determination throughout whilst also maintaining their respect for one and other and the officials also. The U11’s came out with a well deserved 6-0 win displaying some fantastic teamwork with their passing build up play and determination to win the ball back when losing possession. A fine example of how 9v9 football should be played which we hope the U10’s will take on board in to next season.
The under 10s showed the same determination and never gave up. They showed individual skills and the same passing ethic which was fantastic to see. As they gain more experience in 9v9 this style will clearly reap rewards. Goalscorers were Charlie, George, Ali, Zac (2) and Wilf.
We would also like to give a special mention to our officials for the game who volunteered from our U13’s teams, who have expressed interest in taking their officials course in the future, Joe Dawson (referee) Cameron Mole & Oliver Flint (linesmen). They did all did a great job and we’re confident in their decisions. Well done boys
The success of yesterdays game was a testament to the coaches of both teams, all children involved, all parents that came to watch and the heart of Epworth Colts where all members give time to help each other out. UTC
